Christmas market at Aulestad

7 and 8 December 2024

Saturday and Sunday 11.00–16.00

At Aulestad's Christmas market, you can experience the good old-fashioned Christmas atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Christmas-decorated poet's home, participate in fun activities for children, and visit various sales stalls offering tempting goods.

Entry to sales stalls and the café is free. Buy a ticket to participate in the museum's program (tour, exhibitions and children's activities).

Sales stalls with Christmas shopping

Many of the exhibitors come from Gausdal Husflidslag and offer homemade home improvement products. In addition, there are several other exhibitors with tempting food and other Christmas goods.

Tours and exhibitions

During the Christmas season, you can find a variety of sales stalls at Gausdal Husflidslag. Many of the exhibitors offer homemade home improvement products, and there are also several other vendors selling tempting food and other Christmas goods.

The historic home of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson is decorated for Christmas and you can join a tour and see and hear how Christmas was celebrated in Bjørnson's time.

You need a museum ticket or annual pass to join the tour.

The ticket also includes the museum's permanent exhibitions.

Children's activities

The children can listen to fairy tales and take part in other fun activities. All are included in the museum ticket or annual pass.

Open cafe

There is a café in Drengestua and a kiosk in Folkestua with good, homemade food.

Tickets

Tickets online are available until midnight the day before. You can also buy a ticket in Drengestua café at Aulestad.

We reserve the right to make changes to the program and exhibitors.

Parking

We expect many visitors during the Christmas market. If you have the opportunity, we recommend that you travel to Aulestad in a different way than by car.

Parking spaces:
• By Dikterportalen and along the road to the old Neverå bridge.
• Vonheim's car park.
• Follebutunet. Please note: Park at the back, not up at the entrance. There are also parking spaces further down, behind the transformer.
