At Aulestad's Christmas market, you can experience the good old-fashioned Christmas atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Christmas-decorated poet's home, participate in fun activities for children, and visit various sales stalls offering tempting goods.
Explore the charming market stalls both outdoors and inside Folkestua! Many exhibitors from Gausdal Husflidslag showcase handmade home decor and crafts. In addition, a variety of other exhibitors offer delicious food and Christmas goods. Admission to the market stalls is free.
The historic home of Karoline and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Join a guided tour to discover how the Bjørnson family celebrated the holiday season.

Your ticket also includes access to the museum’s permanent exhibitions. If you have an annual pass, the tour is free — but you still need to book a time slot through the ticket links below.
Please note that the guided tours are presented in Norwegian.
Children are invited into the decorated home to hear fairy tales and stories from Christmas at Aulestad. Here they will hear about the "Fjøsnisse" – the little barn gnome from Norwegian folklore, and the tradition of setting out porridge for him at Christmas. We'll go outside and the kids can take part in this tradition.
