All day
Experience Aulestad's beautiful farm yard and garden. The Bjønson family got their inspiration from their many travels.
In cooperation with the surroundings, the buildings and the farm's history, the garden is a documentation of time showing Aulestad's life as home and museum.
Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson had yet not moved to Auletad when he expressed his interest for gardens. He wanted decorations around the houses.
Summary from Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's letter to Carl Seip in 1874 confirms his interest for gardens:
”You must turn to gardner Norstrøm at Hamar about the garden. He must start now if possible, and his hands must be free to do what he wants. A large, beautiful garden.! ”
At Aulestad you will find a beautiful, historic garden, that has developed constantly since Karoline and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson moved there. A pleasure to enjoy!
