Guided tour in Bjørnson's home

Welcome into Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons's home!

Time has been stopped at Aulestad to give visitors an opportunity to experience the house the way it was when the Bjørnson family lived there. The guided tour offers meetings with the writer, the politician, the theater director and the family father.

Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson lived at Aulestad together with his wife Karoline for more than a quarter of a century. His home became a gathering place for both family and friends, filled with art and gifts from near and far.

Guests at Aulestad will experience the home together with a guide who tells the story about Bjørnson’s life, family, literature and his community involvement. 

The tour will be in English at these hours:
May, June and August: 13.30
July: 14.00

  • Max 15 persons per tour
  • Registration at the museum's hosts
