Guided tour in the Bjørnson home

1.30 pm

Every day during the summer season and weekends in September

Welcome into Karoline and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnsons's home!

Time stands still at Aulestad, allowing visitors to experience the house just as it was when the Bjørnson family lived there. The guided tour offers a glimpse into the many sides of Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson – as writer, politician, theatre director, and family man.

Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson lived at Aulestad together with his wife Karoline for more than a quarter of a century. His home became a gathering place for both family and friends, filled with art and gifts from near and far.

Guests at Aulestad may experience the home together with a guide who tells the story about Bjørnson’s life, family, literature and his community involvement.
